PETRAčICEVA 4, ZAGREB, CROATIA, 10110 / AGILITYPR.NEWS / November 13, 2025 / A recent survey conducted by Robocash reveals that European investors are ready to allocate up to 25% of their investment portfolios to P2P lending. Although this asset class showcases its appeal in generating passive income, the respondents try to be cautious in balancing risk and reward.
A third of European investors see P2P as an attractive addition to their diversified portfolios, although they were initially skeptical about it. Meanwhile, another third took a more cautious stance, emphasizing the importance of security.
The survey underscored that the most critical factors influencing investment decisions are reputation and reliability of P2P platforms. Investors increasingly prioritize transparency, and proven track records when selecting platforms. According to the majority, the robust regulatory frameworks will determine the future of the market.
High profitability is the second most important consideration when choosing a P2P platform. Remarkably, many respondents have observed tangible profits from P2P lending within the first three months. “For example, rental properties may take 1-2 years to become profitable after purchase, and private equity investments can take 5-10 years to realize significant gains. This makes P2P a more immediate and accessible option for generating passive income”. - the experts note.
Almost half of investors suggest that allocating from 10% to 25% of a diversified investment portfolio into P2P can balance risk and reward, making it an appealing alternative to traditional assets such as stocks, bonds, or real estate.
At the same time, only 6% of respondents are willing to allocate more than 50% of their investment portfolios to P2P. “P2P lending maintains a firm position in the fixed-income market with a nominal annual return of 11–12%. But savings deposits continue to remain popular because of their capital preservation guarantees, encouraging investors to balance higher-yield assets with more proven investments, which P2P is set to emerge as”. - the experts add.
