Albright College Named a Business College of Distinction

READING, PA / AGILITYPR.NEWS / August 25, 2026 / Today's employers aren't just looking for graduates who understand business; they want graduates who can navigate uncertainty, lead across differences and make decisions in situations no textbook can anticipate. Colleges of Distinction has named Albright College a 2026-2027 Business College of Distinction, recognizing an undergraduate business program built for exactly that challenge.

The award's selection process goes well beyond accreditation and into the day-to-day experience of the major, evaluating the full arc of a student's business education from how they enter the discipline as first-years to how they enter the workforce as graduates. Albright's program earned this recognition by demonstrating depth and intentionality at every stage.

“Between our co-major program, hands-on experience and the relationships our faculty build with employers across the region, students leave Albright with the judgment and the experience to lead, not just a diploma,” Albright President Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D. said.

“The business landscape that students are entering looks fundamentally different than it did even five years ago,” said Tyson Schritter, Chief Operating Officer at Colleges of Distinction. “Albright’s program doesn’t just keep up with constant change; it prepares students to lead through it. Their combination of rigorous academics, applied learning and ethical grounding is exactly what we look for.”

Albright's Business Administration program has been a cornerstone of the college's curriculum for decades, with consistent enrollment and a steady number of graduates entering the workforce each year. Students choose from nine distinct tracks, including Economics, Finance, Entertainment Industry, International Business, Management, Marketing, Sports Management, Hospitality Management, Human Resources Management and Social Media Marketing, plus a Sustainable Business minor and the option to combine business with another major.

Students gain real-world experience through internships coordinated by Albright's Career Development Center, as well as industry site visits and networking events. Through Albright's student-run entrepreneurial organization and leadership workshops, students collaborate on real community and business challenges alongside peers from other majors. Required coursework in business law and management principles grounds students in ethical decision-making alongside technical business skills.

Business students receive academic advising from program faculty, with additional support available through Albright's Student Success Center. Regular visits from alumni and local business professionals, combined with leadership workshop programming, connect students to networking, mentorship, and job opportunities throughout their time at Albright.

“Business students at Albright aren’t waiting until graduation to do real work,” Schritter added. “They’re solving real problems, building real relationships, and developing the kind of professional judgment that only comes from experience. That’s what sets this program apart.”
