Asian Trade Rug Company (ATRC) has loaned a 10-foot round, hand-knotted rug to Saguaro City Music Theater’s fall production of My Fair Lady, continuing the company’s long-standing commitment to Tucson’s arts community. From Live Theatre Workshop to productions across town, ATRC has quietly supplied beautiful, performance-ready rugs for years—helping stages feel authentic, warm, and lived-in.

“Our family has been part of Tucson’s arts story for decades,” said Hannah Massarat, CEO of Asian Trade Rug Company. “We love seeing handcrafted rugs transform a set—grounding a scene, elevating the design, and bringing audiences a little closer to the story. Supporting local theater is one of the simplest ways we can give back to a community that has supported us for generations.”

Saguaro City’s production team said the piece immediately became the visual anchor of the show. “It was the centerpiece of our set, and looked absolutely phenomenal,” said Dena DiGiacinto, Managing Director, on behalf of the My Fair Lady creative team.

ATRC’s latest loan features a richly patterned, modern-tribal round from Afghanistan—selected for its scale, color, and stage presence. The company routinely donates or loans rugs for community performances, creating a no-cost pathway for theaters to elevate production value while keeping budgets focused on artists and audiences.
