Bennie Tinson Advances To General Election For Compton City Council, 2nd District

Bennie Tinson, a lifelong Compton resident, has officially advanced to the general election for Compton City Council, 2nd District, following strong primary support. Born, raised, and educated in the 2nd District, Tinson brings deep community ties and a comprehensive vision for progress focused on public safety, economic revitalization, and neighborhood quality of life.


"We did it," said Bennie Tinson. "Thanks to your incredible support, we have officially advanced to the general election. I'm standing today because of the foundation my parents laid when they chose Compton as our home. I love this city, and I am ready to lead us to City Hall."


The campaign's platform prioritizes three key areas of transformation:


Public Safety & Infrastructure: The candidate will prioritize community safety by installing speed bumps to protect children, repairing streets, maintaining trees, and modernizing drainage systems to prevent flooding and infrastructure failures.


Economic Revitalization:  A comprehensive initiative to transform Long Beach Boulevard through eradication of sex trafficking, attraction of new dining and shopping destinations, and development of attainable mixed-use housing that serves working families.


Neighborhood Quality: A commitment to cleaning and maintaining Compton's streets by removing commercial trucks and RVs, stopping industrial pollution, and eliminating graffiti within 24 hours of reporting.


"It is time to bring true honesty, integrity, and transparency back to our local government," Tinson stated. "Together, we are going to fight for the Compton we know is possible."
