UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / July 16, 2025 / Portsmouth, UK: British haircare brand nope. has announced the close of its first successful funding round at a £2.1 million EIS-backed valuation, marking a pivotal moment for the high-growth, plastic-free beauty startup.
Founded by entrepreneur Rosie Myers, the brand has quickly built a loyal following and secured online listings with major retailers for its high-performance, non-toxic shampoo and conditioner bars.
The company has recorded 360% year-on-year growth, driven by strong repeat customer rates and a thriving direct-to-consumer channel. It has now attracted investment from notable industry figures, including David Allan, former Global Marketing Director at Coty Prestige, who joins as both a board member and strategic advisor.
“I’ve been aware of nope. for several years and jumped at the chance to invest,” said Allan. “It’s a brand that’s aligned with the values of today’s consumer and built on strong fundamentals - profitable growth, operational discipline, and purpose. Rosie and Chloe are sharp, focused and relentless. Why wouldn’t I invest?”
nope.’s traction is underscored by a compelling founder story. Myers launched the brand after overcoming trichotillomania, a compulsive hair-pulling disorder she developed at age nine following the sudden loss of her father.
“After CBT therapy helped me stop pulling, I wanted a haircare brand I could trust,” said Myers. “Everything I found came in plastic, was full of harsh ingredients or was greenwashed beyond belief. So, I made my own. nope. is about better hair and a better planet and we’ll never compromise on either.”
Since launch, nope. has sold more than 100,000 bars worldwide, with 50% of customers being new to solid haircare. Its bars last three times longer than bottled equivalents, and exclusive manufacturing partnerships have enabled it to scale rapidly while maintaining quality and consistency.
The brand has also upended category norms: while the typical bar-to-bottle ratio in haircare sees six shampoo bars sold for every one conditioner bar, nope. has closed this gap to two to one, mirroring usage rates in traditional liquid formats.
nope. products are available online with Tesco, Superdrug and Debenhams, and stocked by over 60 independent retailers across the UK.
