The Midlands is continuing to cement its reputation as the UK’s logistics capital, with major warehouse investments confirming the region’s growing importance as a national distribution hub.

Recent developments from major logistics operators - including new facilities from CEVA Logistics in Derby and DHL Supply Chain in the wider Midlands region - reflect continued confidence in the area’s strategic position. CEVA’s new 508,000 sq ft Derby operation is designed to support high-volume ecommerce fulfilment, while DHL has announced major investment into Derby facilities as part of its wider UK logistics expansion.

Midland-based materials handling specialist Midland Pallet Trucks is seeing this growth on the warehouse floor, where demand for reliable pallet trucks, stacker trucks, lift tables and other handling equipment continues to increase.

The Midlands has long benefited from its central location, providing access to major road networks and allowing businesses to serve customers across the UK efficiently. However, the latest wave of warehouse investment suggests the region’s role is evolving beyond simple geographic convenience.
