GENEVA, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / October 30, 2025 / SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 153.25 to inform stakeholders of Montenegro’s amendments to its chemical and persistent organic pollutant (POP) regulations.
Issued on October 6, 2025, Official Gazette of Montenegro (OGM) No. 112/2025 updates Annexes 1 and 2 of the Regulation on prohibited or permitted use, production and placing on the market of chemicals that pose an unacceptable risk to human health and the environment (OGM No. 70/2018). The revisions further align Montenegro’s framework with the European Union’s REACH Regulation (EC No. 1907/2006) and Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POP Recast Regulation).

These amendments entered into force on October 14, 2025, eight days after publication in the Official Gazette.
