Tucson Federal Credit Union Puts Community Commitment Into Action During Arizona Credit Union Week

TUCSON, ARIZ. / AGILITYPR.NEWS / October 27, 2026 / From buying neighbors their morning coffee to painting a mural at Sister José Women’s Center, TFCU joined credit unions statewide for a week of giving, volunteerism and financial education

Tucson Federal Credit Union (TFCU) joined credit unions across the state October 13 through 16 for the fourth annual Arizona Credit Union Week (AZCUWEEK), a statewide celebration of the credit union movement and the difference credit unions make in the communities they serve. Throughout the week, TFCU employees took part in community service, financial education and collaborative initiatives designed to create meaningful local impact while strengthening relationships across Arizona’s credit union community.

“Arizona Credit Union Week is a chance to show what people helping people looks like in action,” said Matthew Gaspari, President and CEO of Tucson Federal Credit Union. “Whether our team was buying a neighbor’s morning coffee, painting alongside our fellow credit unions at Sister José Women’s Center or teaching young people about money, this week turned our commitment to the community into action. When Arizona’s credit unions work together, we make a bigger difference than any one of us could on our own.”

TFCU’s AZCUWEEK highlights

  • Pay-It-Forward Day (Tuesday, October 13): TFCU kicked off its week at local and independently owned coffee shops: Coffee Times and Roadrunner Coffee, covering $1,700 in coffee and breakfast purchases for local customers.
  • Volunteer Day (Wednesday, October 14): Seven TFCU employees joined volunteers from OneAZ Credit Union and Hughes Federal Credit Union at Sister José Women’s Center to paint a large mural across the center’s living area. Through the broader AZCUWEEK initiative, participating credit unions also contributed funds to support the nonprofit organizations served throughout the week.
  • International Credit Union Day (Thursday, October 15): Credit unions across Arizona collaborated on social media content featuring employees answering Arizona-themed questions and sharing financial tips, with each organization supporting and amplifying one another’s posts.
  • Financial Soccer Presented by Visa (Friday, October 16): The week concluded in Tempe at Geneva Epps Mosley Middle School, where participating credit unions came together for a youth-focused event combining financial literacy lessons with soccer and interactive learning.

Now in its fourth year, Arizona Credit Union Week is a collaborative effort among the state’s credit unions, united by a shared mission to empower financial well-being, strengthen local economies and give back to the communities they serve. For TFCU, the week reinforced the value of Arizona credit unions working together to create broader community impact than any one organization could achieve alone.
